Honda Civic Tourer Will Help You Move

Most people don’t think of the Honda Civic as a good vehicle for moving to a new home; surely, it can’t move that many of your most beloved items, right?

Wrong.

This article from AutoExress shows how functional the Honda Civic Tourer really is and that it can, in fact, be a perfectly vehicle for helping you move.

If you can get past the fact that the author uses the word “boot” for trunk and “niggle” for…well, we’re not exactly sure, the article highlights some of the amazing features of the Honda Civic Tourer that you may not think about during a quick test drive.

  • More storage VW Golf and Ford Focus and rear seats that independently flip up “revealing another huge storage area, which proved perfect for picture frames and suitcases.”
  • More than 47 miles per gallon
  • “The Civic’s big boot made light work of the task in hand, and my large bedside chest was squeezed in without the need to fold the back seats. There was even enough space left over to pack in a load of cushions, bedding and clothes.”

See? It’s actually a very spacious, functional vehicle.

“When people think of the Honda Civic, they usually think of it as an awesome compact, commuter car,” said Tony Carter, general manager at Northwest Honda in Bellingham. “It’s definitely that, but the Honda Civic Tourer is also extremely functional with way more space and storage than you think.”

Honda is the only Automaker on TheWeeklyDriver.com’s Top 10 List for 2013

As many other websites are doing, TheWeeklyDriver.com has released a list of its top ten cars for 2013. Honda is the only automaker that had two of its vehicles make the list.

Check out the article here.

The Honda to make their list was the new Honda Accord. Their review in brief? “Who would have thought a Honda Accord would be a luxury car? Think no more. It is.”

The next Honda on the list was the Honda Odyssey. What they had to say in brief: “All the stigma soccer moms and van pool types have against minivans is no longer relevant. The Honda Odyssey is a high-end sedan, really, masquerading as a large, aggressive, powerful people mover that easily seats seven.”

There are links from the article to entire review of each vehicle, but we think this a pretty good start.

“Both the Accord and the Odyssey have really broken the molds of their respective segments,” said Tod McLaughlin of Apple Valley Honda in Wenatchee. “Really, the Accord has set a new standard for affordable sedans and the Odyssey has been called the “modern minivan,” so it’s really great that they both made this list.”

2014 Honda Odyssey is the Modern Minivan

Yes, we realize we may have to change the name of this blog to “The Blog about the 2014 Honda Odyssey and 2014 Honda Accord,” but we get our content from the internet, so whatever the internet is talking about is what we talk about.

And the internet is talking a LOT about the 2014 Honda Odyssey and it’s all good stuff.

We don’t like to be repetitive so we’ll start with the part of this review (from the Spokesman Review in Spokane) that literally made is LOL (ok, chuckle): “The Odyssey (from $29,655, including destination) seats up to eight in a cabin that’s easily reconfigured to accommodate an apocalypse-worthy Costco run.”

Because, really, we all know what a non-apocalyptic Costco run can look so it was fun to imagine an “apocalypse-worthy Costco run” and it’s good to know the 2014 Honda Odyssey can handle it.

For as much as is awesome about the 2014 Honda Odyssey, this one talked a lot about the superior handling of this modern minivan, perhaps because people don’t expect much from minivans. The 2014 Honda Odyssey is changing all that.

“Despite its large capacity, the Odyssey drives small. It’s responsive and easy to maneuver in traffic. On the road, it’s quiet and stable…Relative to crossovers, the Odyssey’s low center of gravity produces a stable, surefooted feel at highway speeds and through fast corners. Honda’s subtle, sure-handed approach to suspension and chassis dynamics give it a lively quality underhand. The ride is firm and controlled but compliant over rough surfaces. Steering is responsive and nicely weighted, with good on-center feel.”

And, of course, the 2014 Honda Odyssey comes with a plethora of technological options, including Lane Watch, back up cameras, Honda infotainment system, and (on the Touring model) the  HondaVac vacuum!

“The 2014 Honda Odyssey really brings the minivan to a whole new level,” said Keith Hofkamp, general manager at Sims Honda dealership in Burlington. “If you are “scared” of minivans, come check out the 2014 Honda Odyssey. It’s the least minivan minivan you’ll find on the market and you’ll probably fall in love with its style and functionality.”

Honda Accord Hybrid is “Moving”

We have written a lot about the the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid; some are lengthy reviews and others highlight lengthy reviews. So this article titled the “Top 10 vehicles that moved us in 2013,” provided a brief review of why the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid is the best sedan in the industry…and nailed it.

According to this article, “The Accord sets a new standard for hybrids, with a groundbreaking blend of comfort, performance and efficiency. Starting at $29,945, it costs only slightly more than a Toyota Prius — and matches its efficiency in a better-looking, better-equipped, more powerful, full-sized sedan. EPA rating: 50 city, 45 highway. We had no trouble matching those figures in a real-world test. Just for fun, we tried to maximize the mileage with careful driving — and hit 60 mpg over two hours on flat city streets. Seriously. No joke. We are talking about a luxurious 3,600-pound sedan that can turn zero-to-60 mph in seven seconds.”

Here at Apple Valley Honda, we couldn’t agree more.

“The Honda Accord Hybrid is one of the best cars that Honda has ever produced,” said Tod McLaughlin, general manager at Apple Valley Honda in Wenatchee. “And that’s saying something. Can you imagine getting more than 5o miles per gallon? And the technology that comes standard on the Accord Hybrid will blow your mind. And it’s entirely affordable. Definitely stop by and check out the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid.”

Stop by Apple Valley Honda, Northwest Honda, or Sims Honda dealership to find out what all the buzz about the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid is about.

2014 Honda Odyssey is “Most Versatile Car Ever Made”?

There’s a lot to love about the 2014 Honda Odyssey: the space, the vacuum, the handling, the technology, and more.

One of the two dislikes listed by www.theweeklydriver.com? “It’s called a minivan, which could discourage buyers who think it’s actually a minivan.”

This family hauler is more like the Swiss army knife of vehicles because of all the things it does and you can get accomplished with it.

“What isn’t there to like about the 2014 Honda Odyssey?” said Keith Hofkamp, general manager at Sims Honda dealership in Burlington. “If you are looking for the best family vehicle, then you need to stop by and check out the 2014 Odyssey. Even if you’re a “No Minivan” kind of person, you may find yourself falling in love with the very non-minivan maneuverability, gas mileage, style, and technology. And the vacuum. Can’t forget about the Honda-vac in the back.”

When it comes to family vehicles, space and versatility of that space is king…which is why the 2014 Honda Odyssey reigns.

According to The Weekly Driver, “The Odyssey’s all-around spaciousness is impressive. There’s headroom and legroom aplenty and comfort without compromise. It’s an ideal cruising car for a weekend getaway for three couples without having to worry about a gas-guzzler’s limitations.”

They also had a long list of “likes” that we think you will also appreciate:

  • Quiet ride
  • Agile Maneuvering
  • Good acceleration for its class
  • Deep trunk
  • Large, clear navigation system and back-up camera screen.
  • Easy entrance, exit.
  • Strong overall vision.

Honda CR-V Better Than Ford SUVs in Many Ways

This is press release from a local Honda dealership located in Wisconsin. They’ve done some great comparisons between the Honda CR-V and Ford SUVs. Check it out below. If Wisconsin is too far for you to get your Honda CR-V fix, then stop by Apple Valley Honda in Wenatchee, Northwest Honda in Bellingham, or Sims Honda in Burlington!

RHINELANDER, Wis., Oct. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Rhinelander Honda is committed to being a primary resource for people looking for their first or next Honda car, truck or SUV. They have employed a series of online tools to make the research phase of vehicle shopping as painless as possible. During that research process, customers are often tasked with comparing vehicles on a head-to-head basis. Trying to find those measurements and scores can be very difficult, especially when comparing similar vehicles between two different automakers. The staff at Rhinelander Honda has done some of that leg work for its customers and compared two of the most popular crossover SUVs on the market today; the 2014 Honda CR-V vs. the 2014 Ford Escape.

As for the differences of the Honda CR-V and the Ford Escape, a few jump right off of the page to those deciding which vehicle to finally take home with them. The 2014 Honda CR-V is powered by a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 185 horsepower while recording more than 20 miles per gallon during city driving conditions and breaking the 30-mile per gallon barrier while driving on the highway, according to Environmental Protection Agency estimates. There are more engine options available for the 2014 Ford Edge; however those are only available on some of the higher priced upper trims. The base engine of the 2014 Edge is a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder that makes 168 horsepower while getting very similar EPA fuel-economy scores to the 2014 Honda CR-V.The 2014 Honda CR-V available in Rhinelander has been one of the most popular crossover SUVs since it was released to the public sometime ago. The new CR-V, like its predecessors, offers one of the most compliant and comfortable rides in its automotive industry segment. One of several things that have made crossover SUVs more popular than older, more rough-and-tumble designs has been the unibody construction of the Honda CR-V’s frame. This design feature allows the CR-V to be much more nimble through tight spaces like parking structures or parking lots. Drivers that have never driven an SUV before will have a very small learning curve coming from a sedan.
