The US News and World Report website did a thorough study of the best compact SUVs on the market and the 2014 Honda CR-V is definitely at the top of its class.
- #2 in Affordable Compact SUV
- #1 in Affordable Compact SUVs with 2nd row
- #2 in Affordable Crossover SUV
“The 2014 truly is one of the compact SUVs money can buy,” said Keith Hofkamp, general manager at Sims Honda dealership in Burlington. “It’s roomy, versatile, and gets good gas mileage. It’s also one of the, if not the, safest compact SUVs on the market.”
That’s what we’re saying, but here’s what everyone else is saying:
- Roomy, fuel-efficient and loaded with family-friendly features, the 2014 Honda CR-V is our top choice among compact crossover SUVs.” –Edmunds
- “The 2014 Honda CR-V sails into the new year with little changed, not that one of the best-selling compact SUVs on the market needed changing.” – Kelley Blue Book
- “CR-V continues to excel for its “just-right” blend of comfort, refinement, passenger room, and cargo versatility. It’s competitively priced, too.” — Consumer Guide (2013)
- “Some of its competitors lean on styling and upmarket features to appeal to customers, but Honda is relying on the core strengths of its product. As a package, the CR-V remains pretty unbeatable. That certainly won’t come as a surprise to existing CR-V owners.” – Automobile Magazine (2012)

Have you ever wanted to take a tour of the Honda Museum in Japan but can’t afford the plane ticket?
Well, now you can. A virtual tour, anyway.
According to this article on Motortrend.com, “In addition to a modest gift shop, café, and archive room, the first floor also features a special section dedicated to Asimo. Here, Honda shows no fewer than 12 evolutionary steps it took to produce the ultimate live-in assistant. Alongside Asimo is a display dedicated to the Honda FCX Clarity fuel cell vehicle. There’s plenty to see on the second floor, whether you’re a fan of Honda’s two or four-wheeled vehicles. Included among the collection of cars are the NSX, an Accord station wagon, a first-generation Honda Prelude, and the Civic. One wall is even dominated by Honda’s collection of lawn mowers. Finally, the third floor is dedicated to the automaker’s motorsports heritage. There, you’ll find a 1990 McLaren Honda MP4/5B, which Ayrton Senna raced (and won) in a number of GPs.”
So if you’ve ever wanted to see all that the Honda museum has to offer but don’t have the vacation time, check out the virtual tour!
If you’re like us, you’ve been anxiously awaiting the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid. Well, it’s here. And so are the rave reviews.
Not only do people love the ‘achievable’ (read honest) gas mileage claims of 50 city/45 highway, the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid has a ‘refined’ ride that seems very un-hybrid.

As an update to a blog we posted about a month ago, we are happy to report that Honda’s Project Drive-In has saved four drive-in theaters around the country with it’s voting/fundraising efforts!
The four additional drive-in theaters that have been saved in Monetta, S. C,.; Ocala, Fla.; Cadet, Mo.; Elizabethton, Tenn. Previously, Honda had donated five other business-saving projectors to theaters in Oregon, Michigan, Maine, Texas, and Illinois.
“It’s not often that a company gets the opportunity to help preserve an American pastime. It has been a privilege to bring national and local attention to the fate of drive-ins and to meet the passionate owners of these small businesses,” said Alicia Jones, manager of Honda and Acura social marketing. “We hope that the #SaveTheDriveIn movement continues in the effort to help keep more drive-ins open for the next generation.”
Honda has donated the projectors that can cost upwards of $75,000. Additionally, Honda has raised $43,000. Find out more at Projectdrivein.com.
As this article points out, many people don’t think minivans are cool, so being the “undisputed king of the minivans” may be like being declared king of the geeks in high school.
Then again, maybe not. I mean, just check out this video review by KickingTires.com and you’ll see how COOL the Honda Odyssey really is.
Readers of the website Whatcar.com voted Honda as the most trusted brand when it comes to buying a used vehicle.
According to this article, “Chas Hallett, editor in chief of What Car?, commented “Honda has proved time and time again that it makes great cars that are reliable, which in turn make great used car buys.”
Honda is also excited about being recognized as the most trusted brand in the used car market.
Adrian Cole, Managing Director, Universal Honda Ltd., championed the recent survey result, saying “our cars are designed to deliver an outstanding customer experience from the purchasing stage right through to the end of the car’s life. That’s why it’s not only important that our cars are manufactured to last, to perform and to be enjoyable but also to provide an industry leading service to our customers at all touch points.

Did you know that when Batman isn’t fighting crime, he’s driving a Honda Odyssey and mildly terrorizing his children with nuggets of parental correction in his rough, Batman voice.
Oh, wait. Not Batman. Batdad, as seen on Vine.
“When I’m not fighting crime, I drive a Honda Odyssey. It gets better gas mileage,” said Batdad.
Ok, that’s about the only Honda-related statement that Batdad makes, BUT it’s the first one in this montage and he’s not getting paid to say it, so we think it means that much more.

At a time when gasoline prices are at a premium, one of the most important issues to car buyers is the gas mileage. And the new Honda Insight hybrid gets 42 mpgs.
“People want to get more bang for their buck,” said Keith Hofkamp, general sales manager at Sims Honda dealership in Burlington. “With the Honda Insight, you definitely get that. It’s a well-built, small car that delivers big gas mileage.”
And we all know that good things come in small packages.
Not only that but it is one of the most affordable hybrids on the market.
“The small size has a purpose. It’s what allows the 2014 Honda Insight to get an impressive 42 mpg combined fuel economy rating. The excellent fuel economy comes from the combination of a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine and a 10-kilowatt electric motor. The motor tacks on 14 horsepower, putting the overall output for the Insight at 98 horsepower. The motor and engine don’t power the vehicle themselves, rather they work in tandem. On top of adding to the horsepower, the motor supplements the 123 lb-ft of torque and gives the engine the juice it needs to power up after a complete stop. It also keeps the hybrid from having to be plugged in as it acts as a generator for the lithium-ion battery.”
Stop by Sims Honda, Northwest Honda, or Apple Valley Honda today to take the Honda Insight for a test drive!
The movie “Sandlot” is an American classic. So, naturally, to celebrate its twentieth year, there were some special showings presented by the director of the movie, David Mickey Evans.
Yes, 23 special showings over six months. But he didn’t travel from airport to airport to show this cinematic treasure. No, he took his fiance and German Shepard in his Honda Pilot.
All 34,000 miles. And he didn’t have a single problem with his Honda Pilot (except a minor bump when someone parked too close to him).
His last stop will be in Georgia. “When the Georgia event ends, Evans and his traveling team will head back to Florida. Then it’s time to start thinking about his road-tested vehicle for the 25th anniversary.”Hello Honda USA,” says Evans. “I need a new car.”
We think he deserves it
