As a global company, Honda has consistently shown it cares about environments around the world. In a recent announcement, Honda Canada announced it is going to plant 18,000 trees in the fall of 2013 and spring of 2014.
Why 18,000? Because that represents one tree for every Honda customer who bought a Honda ATV or lawn care product.

One Tree.” campaign has far exceeded our expectations. Honda, along with our customers, associates and families, has helped plant more than 94,000 trees in Canada over the past seven years. ”
“These new trees will contribute to the health and well-being of Canadians, from Victoria to St. John’s,” explains Rob Keen, CEO, Trees Ontario. “Honda Canada has become a strong supporter of the Forest Recovery Canada program and we applaud their customers’ efforts who, through their purchases, have contributed to increasing forest cover across the Canadian landscape.”
There are many, many features in the 2014 Honda Odyssey to love. But probably one of my favorite (besides the space and safety features) is the built in vacuum.
Who’s not so fond of it? The ‘spokescrumbs’ in the new commercials for the 2014 Honda Odyssey. You can see three different spots featuring the voices of Neil Patrick Harris and Rainn Wilson as the ‘lovable’ goodies that left behind by children.
As a mom who has plenty of ‘lovable’ spokescrumbs in the backseat of her 2009 Honda Accord, I am beyond excited about the built-in vacuum. And the new commercials.

Honda volunteered the 2014 Honda Odyssey for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s latest safety test and became the first minivan to pass it. The 2014 Honda Odyssey earned the Top Safety Pick Plus rating from the IIHS, the first minivan to do so.
Other automakers have opted not to have their minivans tested because the IIHS small overlap test is not required yet.
“Our goal at Honda is to continuously advance the safety performance of every Honda vehicle to fulfill the trust our customers place in Honda,” said Art St. Cyr, vice president of product planning and logistics for American Honda Motor Co. Inc.
“We didn’t have to do this,” he said. “Some of our competitors have made the choice not to target this top safety rating even when introducing new models,” he said. “We are targeting and achieving this high standard even as part of mid-cycle refreshes on key, high-volume products. We are very confident that our model count will grow and grow even further in the coming months with testing of the all-new Acura RLX and the MDX.”

The Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic have been forever-competitors. According to Business Insider, though, there is no competition with these new models: Honda Civic wins…unless your only consideration is price (the Toyota Corolla is $1,400 cheaper).
Consumer Reports called the Toyota Corolla “bland” and the Motor Trend wasn’t nearly as kinda saying, “The car remains more of an improvement for those who will only drive a Toyota than a real Civic- or Forte-challenger, even with those neat LED headlights and a well-tuned CVT.”
Comparatively, “In June, KBB named the 2013 Honda Civic the sixth best sedan under $25,000. The Corolla did not make the top ten.”

This commercial for the 2014 Honda Accord Coupe is one of the best car commercials we’ve seen in a long time. Sure, the background song is French, but it was a nice change up over the deep man-voice listing all the features of the car.
It is a subtle commercial that cleverly slips in on the incredible features (most of which come standard on all trims) of the 2014 Honda Accord Coupe. Whether it was the back-up camera or lane drift warning system, this commercial highlights the real-world applications of the technology and design of the 2014 Honda Accord Coupe.
There is one beef we have to pick with the commercial, though: at one point the 2014 Honda Accord Coupe gets passed by some kind of delivery truck. With the power and speed that comes with the 2014 Honda Accord Coupe that simply would not happen in real life.

The oldest driver in California, Edythe Kirchmaier, was given a new 2013 Honda Civic after her 1997 minivan began having mechanical problems. As an active philanthropist, passionate about her cause, Direct Relief, she needed a way to safely get to and from her charitable work.
Well, an anonymous Facebooker gave her more than a digital candle on her digital birthday cake. They gave her a car!

At first, I thought it was kind of lame. Then…

The Honda Civic was one of the few small cars that received a “good” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
According to this article, “The Civic is the top-selling model in the U.S. so far this year in its segment of “upper small” cars, according to Autodata Corp., a Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey-based industry researcher.Toyota Motor Corp. (7203)’s Corolla ranks second. The Civic is Honda’s second-best-selling vehicle in the U.S. after the larger Accord.
“The two- and four-door Civics, made by Honda, based in Tokyo, both scored “good,” the top rating, in the insurance institute’s simulation. Honda has designed its vehicles to withstand the types of crashes in this test and to have a survivable space for the driver after impact.”
Tod McLaughlin, general manager at Apple Valley Honda in Wenatchee said this underscores a good point: you don’t have sacrifice safety to own a small car.
“There are so many big vehicles on the road, that people want to make sure they will be safe in a collision if they choose to buy a small car,” said McLaughlin. “This study shows that if you want the safest small car on the market, you need to buy a Honda Civic.”

According to this article, “Honda says the Civic Tourer will stand out in Europe’s crowded compact wagon segment because of its “sleek and sophisticated exterior combined with class-leading interior space.”
Although this Honda Civic Tourer won’t be available at Apple Valley Honda, Northwest Honda, or Sims Honda dealerships, we thought it was a pretty cool looking wagon. Heck, there would probably be some anti-wagon husbands out there that wouldn’t driving this dynamic wagon.
Honda is hoping so because they are counting on 20 percent of their Civic sales in Europe to be wagons.
