The 2014 Honda Civic will available at Apple Valley Honda, Sims Honda, and Northwest Honda in December and when it lands it will be with a new special feature: HERE mapping service, the BTC and HD Radio technology.
These services will be offered subscription free and will allow drivers to access real-time traffic information, construction alerts and traffic incidents, and even album art.
According to this article, “Jeff Jury, COO, iBiquity Digital said: “Honda is showing real leadership in bringing the benefits of the HD Radio digital data pipe to their vehicles. Subscription-free real-time traffic, and advanced HD Radio features will now be available in the Civic, one of America’s most popular vehicles. This is another great example of a leading automaker integrating our digital terrestrial technology as part of a connected vehicle strategy. Honda and the entire automotive industry are adopting the latest HD Radio audio and data features very quickly driving the transition of over-the-air AM and FM broadcasting to a digital future.”
“We are excited about the 2014 Honda Civic, but with this announcement about it being the first Honda to have HD Radio, we are even more excited,” said Tony Carter, general manager at Northwest Honda in Bellingham. “I think people are really going to love that real-time traffic information. One accident can change traffic drastically around here that people will really find that tool handy so they can find alternate routes quickly.”

The 2014 Honda Accord series continues to collect awards and accolades, this time at the L.A. Auto Show with the “Green Car of the Year” Award for 2014.
The Green Car Journal bestowed this honor on the Honda Accord.
According to this article, “This year, the prize’s jurors _ among them environmentalists and comedian/car enthusiast Jay Leno opted to honor an already-popular model that has a gas-electric hybrid version, but also an internal combustion engine that runs on gas.’
Not only is the technology right, but so is the price.
“The 2014 Honda Accord is such a high quality car with the technology and materials that come standard,” said Keith Hofkamp of Sims Honda in Burlington. “People read all about all the features and assume it’s out of their price range. You might be surprised to find out that it starts just over $20,000. The hybrid version is one of the most affordable hybrids on the market!”

The Honda Civic is important vehicle to Honda. Good thing for Honda, it’s a valued car with American car-buyers.
With every remodel and refresh the Honda Civic gets better and better; the 2014 Honda Civic is no different. It’s got improved gas mileage, more horse power, and a more aggressive style.
According to this article, “Year over year, we have continued to strengthen the competitive position of Civic with new performance, features and value for the money, and 2014 is no exception,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda. “This 2014 Civic is our best offering yet.”

The 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid continues to earn accolades from critics and consumers alike. It’s also earned it’s first “best of” award from Green Car Reports.
According to this article, the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid beat out 5 other vehicles, including “the 2014 BMW i3 electric, 2014 Chevrolet Cruze diesel, 2014 Chevrolet Spark electric, 2014 Mazda3 with conventional gas power and 2014 Honda Accord hybrid.”
“This is very exciting,” said Tony Carter, general manager at Northwest Honda dealership in Bellingham. “I’m sure it’s just the first of many awards the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid will earn, but it’s really incredible to have it start getting this kind of recognition and beating out big names like BMW already.”
By getting more mpgs (up to 52 mpgs!), the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid will become the most popular hybrid sedan on the road.
“Honda has managed to pull off a neat trick,” Voelcker writes. “Against competitors that have been in the market several years, its first-ever full hybrid [unlike the 2005] matches the best of the breed for styling and interior quality, while alos delivering among the highest real-world gas mileage as well.”
We have mentioned Honda’s “Start Something Special” campaign and even the commercial about the special role Honda played in the wedding of one lucky couple.
The bride had requested to borrow 3 Honda CR-Vs for the wedding; Honda provided eight. Then flew in family from Ireland for the big day. And Irish step dancers. And the couple’s favorite Irish band. And arranged for $2,000 from Macy’s.
This article (you can watch the commercial at the end of it) stated that the commercial wasn’t moving, that there wasn’t enough tension to make it effective. And that Honda “upstaged” the couple.
We definitely think that is wrong. Sure, it’s not super dramatic and there’s no “tension,” but as we watched it, we were definitely touched and even teared up. A couple’s wedding day is memorable, for sure, but Honda certainly made it more memorable and special.
Take a look at the commercial and tell us what you think. Did it effect you like it did us?
The Honda Accord is a much beloved family-sedan. However, back in 2009 Honda responded to those who love the Accord but also wanted more storage and more power.
The result was the Honda Accord Crosstour, now just known as the Honda Crosstour.
“The 2014 Honda Crosstour is essentially a hatchback Accord with way more power and storage, which makes it even more perfect for families who are looking for an economical car with lots of storage who also don’t want an SUV,” said Keith Hofkamp, sales manager at Sims Honda dealership in Burlington, Wash.
According to this article, “The V-6 engine that was found in the first edition Crosstour is still present in the new 2014 Honda Crosstour, but it has been significantly upgraded. The 3.5-liter engine delivers 278 horsepower and 252 pound-foot of torque. The Crosstour also offers a four-cylinder engine option which has an output of 192 horsepower, yet is still capable of achieving 31 mpg on the highway.
“On top of the fuel economy rating, consumers are sure to enjoy the storage versatility of the Crosstour. The sloped back seems to cut into the storage capacity, however, the space is compensated for in the hidden, removable utility box in the floor of the cargo area. Storage is also extended to 51.3 cubic feet when the fold-down 60/40 split rear seatback is collapsed.”
Versatility, storage, power, high safety ratings, and great gas mileage. What more could you want from a vehicle?! Stop by Sims Honda, Northwest Honda in Bellingham, or Apple Valley Honda in Wenatchee to see why the Honda Crosstour could be the perfect car for your family.
Consumer Reports recently got their first drive of the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid and called it worthy of the ‘Accord’ name. Now that’s saying something.
Here’s what else Consumer Reports had to say: “Overall, marrying its slick hybrid technology to the already capable Accord and at a reasonable price is good news. It would be great if Honda were to use this system for its other so-called hybrid vehicles.”
Consumer Reports was equally impressed by the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid’s power and gas mileage. Not very often do you find good power and great gas mileage going together. In fact, it gets 196 hp and a combined 47 mpg.
“No matter how you slice it, the Hybrid’s powertrain is slick. The car sets off decisively, gliding on abundant electric-motor torque. Transitions between electric-only and gas-assisted power are barely perceptible. And unlike other hybrids, the brake pedal feels natural and linear despite its regenerative-braking duties. No learning curve needed.”

The US News and World Report website did a thorough study of the best compact SUVs on the market and the 2014 Honda CR-V is definitely at the top of its class.
- #2 in Affordable Compact SUV
- #1 in Affordable Compact SUVs with 2nd row
- #2 in Affordable Crossover SUV
“The 2014 truly is one of the compact SUVs money can buy,” said Keith Hofkamp, general manager at Sims Honda dealership in Burlington. “It’s roomy, versatile, and gets good gas mileage. It’s also one of the, if not the, safest compact SUVs on the market.”
That’s what we’re saying, but here’s what everyone else is saying:
- Roomy, fuel-efficient and loaded with family-friendly features, the 2014 Honda CR-V is our top choice among compact crossover SUVs.” –Edmunds
- “The 2014 Honda CR-V sails into the new year with little changed, not that one of the best-selling compact SUVs on the market needed changing.” – Kelley Blue Book
- “CR-V continues to excel for its “just-right” blend of comfort, refinement, passenger room, and cargo versatility. It’s competitively priced, too.” — Consumer Guide (2013)
- “Some of its competitors lean on styling and upmarket features to appeal to customers, but Honda is relying on the core strengths of its product. As a package, the CR-V remains pretty unbeatable. That certainly won’t come as a surprise to existing CR-V owners.” – Automobile Magazine (2012)

As this article points out, many people don’t think minivans are cool, so being the “undisputed king of the minivans” may be like being declared king of the geeks in high school.
Then again, maybe not. I mean, just check out this video review by KickingTires.com and you’ll see how COOL the Honda Odyssey really is.
