New York Motor Insurance recently released a list of the top cars to drive in New York City and the Honda Insight is the top car in the Big Apple.
When creating this list, New York Motor Insurance considered the concerns of the average city driver. As a result, the list aims to help New Yorkers find a safe, affordable, and comfortable car that can handle lengthy, packed, and damaged city streets.
According to this article, “Size is often a concern when it comes to picking out a car that one will be able to park in the city,” stated the article. “Many city dwellers also want to be able to get great gas mileage to compensate for the higher cost of living in cities. There is plenty of traffic and potholes to be found in New York City, so most drivers just want a car that will not compound the problems that they are already dealing with on the roads.”
We love the Honda Insight (what’s not to love) and if the Honda Insight is the best car for New York City, don’t think you it would be the best car for Seattle? For Wenatchee? For Bellingham? For Mount Vernon?
We think so.
Honda has scored some of the highest scores among global companies in the CDP Global 500 Climate Change Report 2013.
According to this article, “As a result of receiving a high evaluation for both the progress made through its initiatives and the content of its disclosure, the report named Honda one of the world’s top 12 most advanced companies.”
We can’t summarize any better than the original article what the accomplishments of Honda has been in this regard: “For the third consecutive year, Honda was listed as one of only 60 companies in the CDP’s Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index, which features the world’s most advanced companies in the area of global climate change disclosures.
“Honda was also named as one of only 56 companies in the Carbon Performance Leadership Index, which the company’s actual performance in initiatives to address climate change.”
We are proud to be a part of a company that takes its environmental initiatives seriously and that makes a difference in the quality of the world in which we all live.
Hybrid vehicles are not exactly known for their performance.
Well, most hybrid vehicles.
This car journalist could have selected any car his heart desires to race in the MTN Kalahari Desert SpeedWeek, but he chose the Honda CR-Z Hybrid vehicle.
“While you will continue seeing many a Porsche and Mercedes-Benz, I can assure you that nobody else will be bringing a CR-Z to the pan. Not this year. And probably not next year either. So to say that I’m the only person to drive one of these fairly rare coupés down the 5km desert drag strip is quite cool. Well in my book anyway.”
When he wrote this article, he’d gotten it into the 100 mph club, which is very respectable for the soft racing surface and even beats out more expected with V-8 engines like the Porsche 356 Outlaw.

In this article, there are reports that Honda is considering creating a better alternative to the Scion FR-S. One that will be an even lighter, more affordable real-wheel drive sports car.
How affordable? Rumors are it would start around $20,000, which is $5,000 cheaper than the Scion FR-S.
According to the article, “GTChannel sources said the engine of the proposed car would be capable of producing 132 horsepower, which would be dramatic in a sports car as light as the new S2000. The suggested price tag of $20,000 would cement Honda’s reputation as the Best Value Brand, a distinction it earned from Kelley Blue Book earlier this year. It would also have a convertible on the market that Toyota never did for the FR-S, all rumors aside.”

A couple weeks ago we wrote about Honda’s effort to save the drive-in theaters around the country. One of the ways Honda is doing that is letting people vote on which theaters Honda will donate a new digital projector to.
One of those receiving a new digital projector…and new life…is the Saco Drive-In in Sacrament, Calif.

We are very excited to announce that the much anticipated 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid is headed to production to the Honda plant in Marysville, Ohio! This means it should be on local dealership lots like Apple Valley Honda, Northwest Honda, and Sims Honda later this year.

It’s no secret. We adore the built-in vacuum in the 2014 Honda Odyssey. We love the idea. We love the commercials. It’s just fabulous.
But does it really work.
According to Consumer Reports, it does.
We’re sure many people would expect a vacuum built into the vehicle itself not to work as well as a “real” vacuum, which is something Consumer Reports wanted to test.
What they found was that the vacuum in the 2014 Honda Odyssey “really cleans up.” Here’s what they said: “The bottom line. Honda’s built-in vacuum is a worthy addition to an impressive van.”

We see lots of crazy car gadgets and designs, but this one from the Daily Life Hacks Facebook Page, certainly got our attention. While we don’t know what kind of car it is, the sparkly blow dryer (and microphone?!) seems to suggest some kind of feminine compact vehicle.
The dash is filled with an array of makeup (eye shadows, powders, foundations, sticks, and brushes), as well as a surprisingly thorough set of brushes, which may be hard to grab and use whilst driving.
Obviously this is a terrible idea and, hopefully, one that everyone realizes as such. Having gotten stuck behind a woman on I-405 who was “just” trying to apply her mascara, this little set up is actually pretty terrifying. If I hadn’t seen her putting her makeup on, I would’ve thought she was drunk or having a seizure because of the way she was speeding up and slowing down.

The 2014 Honda Fit EV is an electric vehicle that just about anyone can love. It gets 188 MPGe and can go 82 miles on a full charge; that’s more than enough to get you around town or even a quick jaunt down the highway. That’s a big deal considering the national average is 16 miles per trip.
Sheesh. That will barely get to you Costco and back. But we digress.

And you don’t need to worry about what happens if you find you need a charge while you’re out and about, there are currently more than 6,100 charging stations around the country.

As a global company, Honda has consistently shown it cares about environments around the world. In a recent announcement, Honda Canada announced it is going to plant 18,000 trees in the fall of 2013 and spring of 2014.
Why 18,000? Because that represents one tree for every Honda customer who bought a Honda ATV or lawn care product.
