In fact, one estimate based on common driving habits has owners only stopping for gas nine times per year!
“If you are a heavy commuter or even someone who just needs a car to get around town, the 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in will save you big time in gasoline costs and the time spent at the pump,” said Keith Hofkamp, general manager at Sims Honda dealership in Burlington. “Everyone wants to save money and time. The 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in lets you do both like no other vehicle on the market.”
Depending on your range and/or performance needs, there are three ways to drive the 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in: electric only, hybrid and fuel-only modes.
According to this article, “For example, even with some long trips added, the test car averaged 54.1 miles per gallon with a mix of all-electric driving plus city/highway on the gasoline engine. In fact, the federal government’s www.fueleconomy.gov website estimated the tester would only need to stop at the gas station about nine times in a year if driven at its current pattern.”
“If your highest priority is the amount of gasoline your vehicle consumes, then you need to come check out the 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in,” said Hofkamp.

We all know that Honda is one of the top automotive brands in the world. A new Harris Poll EquiTrend Study, however, declared Honda “Full Line Automotive Brand of the Year.”
The writer of this article has a problem with polls, but doesn’t have any problem with Honda being the brand of the year because “the all new Honda Accord and Civic are the # 1 selling cars in their respective segment ; there’s a reason for that: Consistent quality, price, performance and both hold the highest (resale) residual value in the industry.”
Of course, you also have to include the top-selling minivan, the 2014 Honda Odyssey as a contributor to that, as well.
“Honda consistently puts out vehicles that people want to drive, that have the best resale value, and are incredibly long-lasting and dependable,” said Keith Hofkamp, general manager at Sims Honda dealership in Burlington.
The saw it the same way at Torquenews.com. “To us this is no -brainer. Looking to the streets of any-town North America, we find decades old Honda Accords and Civic coupes and sedans selling in the mid 5 figures. No other brand can touch Honda for brand loyalty, longevity and long-term resale value.”

- Accord leads all passenger cars in retail new-vehicle registrations to individual car buyers for first three months of 2014
- Accord, Civic, CR-V and Odyssey are #1 in segment in retail new-vehicle registrations
Accord is leading in the effort to repeat its 2013 performance as the most popular new car with individual American car buyers. Through the first three months of 2014, four of Honda’s five top-selling models – Accord, Civic, CR-V and Odyssey – each led their segments in retail registrations for the first quarter of 2014, according to a Honda analysis of new vehicle registration data from IHS Automotive.
These same four Honda models earned top retail registrations status for the full year in 2013, with Accord earning the title of America’s most popular car based on retail registrations, and Civic and CR-V achieving both retail and outright best-selling status in their respective segments.
“We’re thrilled to be leading the pack in the first lap around the track in 2014,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division. “In a business environment marked by intense competition and heavy incentives, we want to thank our Honda customers for the trust they continue to place in our products.”
Highlights for the Honda brand in the first quarter of 2014 include:
- Excluding full-size pickups, the Accord, Civic and CR-V held three of the top five slots– first, third and fourth, respectively – in registrations among individual car buyers in the first quarter of 2014.
- The Accord, with retail registrations totaling 78,355 units through March, maintained a narrow lead of less than 1,000 units over its nearest competitor. Retail registrations accounted for 98.4 percent of all Accord registrations for the period, according to Honda analysis of IHS Automotive registration data.
- Civic retail registrations of 70,677 units led all small cars, beating the closest segment competitor by more than 10,000 units.
- CR-V retail registrations rose 3.9 percent to 67,773 units compared to the first quarter last year, giving CR-V a more than 7,000-unit lead over the #2 selling vehicle in the segment.
- Odyssey retail registrations of 27,748 units made it the top choice among retail minivan customers.
The Honda Accord and Honda Civic have long been a favorite of car thieves. Vehicle anti-theft device giant LoJack released an interesting study that names the Honda Accord the number one most stolen vehicle in the country; the Honda Civic is number three.
Interestingly, the most stolen color of car is black. But I digress.
Washington ranked 10th in the nation for stolen and returned cars using LoJack and had a couple cities that stood out in terms of stolen vehicles. Yakima ranks 5th and Spokane 9th!
According to the article, “While some states may score lower on overall theft rankings — as Washington does — there can be hot spots within those states that are far more active among auto thieves than the statewide data might suggest.”
“Take whatever measures you need to protect your vehicle, apparently especially if it’s a Honda Accord or Civic,” said Tod McLaughlin, general manager of Apple Valley Honda dealership in Wenatchee. “We have a couple cities in Eastern Washington that have a serious reputation for car theft, protect your Honda.”

The Honda Accord Hybrid gets the best gas mileage of any car on the road. True, the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid costs about $3,000 more than your regular 2014 Accord, but with mind-blowing gas mileage, it’s worth the initial up-front investment.
The article does a great job of breaking down why the initial cost of the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid is totally worth it. Really, the Accord Hybrid is only about $300 more than a gasoline model, so if you are a commuter or someone who drives a lot, you could easily make that money back with the Accord Hybrid’s incredible gas mileage.
“The 2014 Accord Hybrid makes sense for everyone, really,” said Keith Hofkamp, general manager of Sims Honda dealership in Burlington. “But it especially makes sense for people who have wanted to try hybrid technology but weren’t real sure, want to do their part to take care of the environment, and save the most on gas because they drive a lot.”
