Toyota Recalls 2.3 Million Vehicles

Toyota announced a recall affecting 2.3 million vehicles worldwide, including 766,000 vehicles here in the United States.

According to this article, “Wednesday’s recall, which includes 766,000 vehicles in the United States, is the second time Toyota has had to recall the vehicles because a defective inflator for the passenger-side air bag could crack, possibly sending metal fragments into the compartment or causing “thermal damage” to the instrument panel.”

The recall may expand to other automakers, including Honda who is “investigating potential implications, who also used the defective part developed by Takata Corporation.

This recall is an addition to the recall Toyota put out in April 2013.
