Honda Sales Up 13%, Accord Sales Up 75%

Honda posted impressive sales numbers in January of 2013. In fact, Honda sales were up 12.7% in large part to the fact that Honda Accord sales were up 75.2% over January of 2012.

“Those are impressive numbers by anyone’s standards,” said Tod McLaughlin of Apple Valley Honda in Wenatchee. “The 2013 Honda Accord is an amazing machine that has critics and regular consumers raving. While I was surprised sales were up by 75% because that’s such a huge number, I’m not surprised that sales were up big. We sell a lot of them…and for good reason.”

Not to be outdone, sales for the more family oriented Honda Pilot were up 16.3% and Honda Crosstour were up 38.2%.

“That’s a great sign that families feel more confident in spending their hard-earned money on the Pilot and Crosstour,” McLaughlin said.

All of this is great news for Honda who has started 2013 heading in the right direction: “Accord has the Honda brand right where we left off in 2012 – powering significant sales gains in the new year,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales. “With our strongest vehicle lineup ever and continued sales momentum, we’re optimistic 2013 will be a great year for the Honda brand.”
