Honda is voluntarily recalling 748,000 Honda Pilot and Odysseys that may have airbags that my not deploy properly in an accident.
The recall applies to Honda Pilots from the 2009 to 2013 model years and the Honda Odyssey from the 2011 to 2013 model years.
According to this article, “Honda said the plastic cover for the driver-side bags may not have been attached with the correct number of rivets and if rivets are missing, the airbag may not deploy properly in a crash.”
“If you have any questions or concerns about your vehicle, please do not hesitate to call us,” said Tod McLaughlin of Apple Valley Honda in Wenatchee. “Your safety is this most important thing to us, to Honda, and we want to make sure your family is safe. We will inspect your vehicle free of charge and, if necessary, fix the problem at no cost to you.”
There have been no injuries reported.
If you are not sure if your vehicle is affected by this recall, “owners can check now to see if their vehicle will need the repairs by using their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and going to www.recalls.honda.com or calling (800) 999-1009, and selecting option 4.”
